Mr Evans specialises in the assessment of knee disorders and the non‑operative management of knee conditions, drawing on decades of high‑volume surgical experience. His current practice includes:

• Diagnosis of sports‑related knee injuries — including ligament, meniscal and cartilage problems

• Management of early and established knee arthritis

• Guidance on surgical decision‑making for patients considering arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, osteotomy or joint replacement

• Post‑operative review and long‑term follow‑up for patients who have had knee replacement surgery

• Specialist opinion for complex or recurrent knee problems

While Mr Evans no longer performs surgery personally, he remains in touch with the current state of the art by attending as an observer and continues to provide expert consultant care, second opinions, and treatment planning for patients with knee disorders.

Professional Background

Mr Glyn Evans has been a Director of London Knee Clinic for more than 20 years based at London Bridge Hospital and HCA Outpatients and Diagnostics, The Shard. He qualified in Cardiff and trained in Liverpool and Edinburgh before joining the Academic Orthopaedic Unit in Southampton as a Lecturer in Orthopaedics.

He became an NHS Consultant in 1990 and has performed thousands of knee arthroscopies and joint replacements, developing early expertise in partial knee replacement using the Oxford Knee. From 2004 onward, he devoted his practice almost entirely to knee surgery, carrying out 250–300 procedures annually until stepping back from operative work.

Research Interests

Mr Evans has an extensive academic background with long‑standing interests in:

• Gait analysis, particularly knee movement patterns
• Collaborative studies with ETB and BIME on inertial measurement of knee motion, resulting in published work presented at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering Conference (2009)
• Publications in the British Medical Journal on topics including repetitive strain injury and lumbar microdiscectomy
• Peer‑reviewed research on wrist disorders, hip fracture fixation, osteoporotic fractures, tibial stress fractures, and fracture healing
• Economic analysis of autologous blood transfusion in knee replacement surgery
• Studies on Hyaluronan injections for knee osteoarthritis, presented internationally
• Involvement in a multi‑centre study on autologous cartilage cell implantation

His current academic interests include minimal‑tourniquet knee surgery and custom made knee replacements, areas in which he continues to advise and contribute.
