providing your medical and nursing treatment, was updated on 1st June 2010.
London
Knee Clinic is responsible for the provision of administrative services,
handling your confidential data, administration of appointments, liaising
between you, your insurance company and medical staff, and the collection of
payments. London Knee Clinic is registered with the Office of the Information
Commissioner under the Data Protection Act and is responsible for keeping your

London Knee Clinic carries Public Liability Insurance to cover the eventuality
of falls or other injuries sustained while visiting our offices. However London
Knee Clinic is not responsible for any medical advice or treatment, the sole
responsibility for which lies with the individual medical staff involved in
your care.
You
will be seen by one or more doctors in the course of your treatment each of
whom is responsible and liable on an individual basis for the quality and
standard of care they provide. All doctors involved in your care are Regulated
by the General Medical Council and must comply with the guidance on good
practice as detailed in the GMC publication Good
Medical Practice. All doctors involved in your care are covered for
individual Medical Malpractice Liability. This is provided by professional
organisations that offer advice and assistance on legal, ethical and other
problems arising in medical practice. They also provide indemnity for damages
and costs arising from professional negligence. Further information can be
obtained directly from the individual doctors concerned.
All
doctors involved in your care do so through Admitting Rights administered under
the Clinical Governance arrangements in force in each of the hospitals or
treatment centres you attend. The non-exclusive list of locations you may
attend includes hospitals and treatment centres owned by HCA including London
Bridge Hospital and the Wellington Hospital as well as other independent
Hospitals and centres such as the Hospital of St John and St Elizabeth. Further
information regarding Clinical Governance arrangements can be obtained from the
websites of the hospitals and treatment centres concerned. The responsibility
for the quality of all medical and nursing treatment provided by these
establishments is entirely their own.
